Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for services.

At Loud Thoughts Therapy, we believe in being upfront and transparent—no surprise bills, no shady stuff.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your mental health care will cost.

  • This estimate is provided before you receive services—usually when you're scheduling your first appointment or asking about services.

  • The estimate will include the total expected cost of services (like therapy sessions, late cancellation fees, or other add-ons you agree to).

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the charge.

Example Estimate: If you're paying out-of-pocket, therapy sessions typically cost $___ per 50-minute session. If you're coming weekly, that’s about $___ per month. This can change if we meet more or less often—but we’ll always keep you in the loop.

You can request a written Good Faith Estimate at any time. Just email us and we’ll send it over.
